About Us

Team ABOA is composed of veteran hunters and newcomers alike, all of whom love the natural experience that a hunt has to offer. What does hunting have to offer other than the act of engaging in the hunt itself? Adventure, and most hunters will tell you that what they long for is: "Rising early and rested before the sun offers a hint of its presence. Feeling the coldness of the night when it begins to change as the dawn approaches. Taking deep breaths of that crisp, cold air and welcoming the chill with every inhale. Listening to the birds sing their various songs, while the squirrels rustle as they begin their day. Then there is that first ray of light that scrapes the horizon, easing its way into the forest." Nature's night sleepers have awoken. "It's about immersing oneself in nature and leaving behind the day to day routine." Only then can the hunt begin. Only then can a hunter hunt. If you ask Kurt he might tell you this about the thrill of the sport: It is searching, locating and following tracks and trails that the hunted leave behind. It is reading the signs of your prey, assessing your discoveries and setting your tree stand in "just the right spot," then waiting. Even before the first arrow flies the reward for your patience is that initial sighting of your prey as it enters your realm. With every movement of your prey there is hope and anticipation that it will come within shooting range. And what an experience it is when the prey does come into range, not even sensing that you are there. Your adrenaline begins its rush from head to toe and limb to limb. You've done everthing right and you are fully engaged. You pull back and you hold. Then, you shoot that perfect shot. The rush. The harvest. The ancient and fullfilling feeling of tracking and harvesting your prey sets in. Alas, it is your time to count your blessings and share the experience with a friend. All your preparation and hard work has now paid off. This is all part of the hunting experience, all part of the sport. We have only scratched the surface of the foundation of passion, innovation, and ambition in the world of "American Bowhunters." Video recordings of individual hunts and televised hunting shows have taken the sport to a new level of visibility and respect. "American Bowhunters" is now producing DVDs which will include prime footage of Team ABOA's hunting season. Each DVD will be loaded with exciting and adventurous outdoor footage, targeting an audience of sportsmen and women with all levels of experience.
